Behind The Bones: Lauren and Alex's Darlington House Wedding
Lauren and Alex got married at Darlington House in La Jolla, California and the first word that pops into my mind to describe it (and them) is FUN! I’m so excited to give you a behind the scenes look at my process for their letterpress wedding suite + save the date!
Lauren and Alex combined their last names to create the most epic wedding hashtag/theme ever - enter, the Escolaters. This idea popped up everywhere from their wedding website to their cake topper. For their Save The Date, Lauren asked if we could somehow incorporate an escalator for some word play. Obviously, I loved this idea and we ran with it. Right from the start we incorporated some bold hues and this continued when it was time to create their formal invitation suite.
I’ve been a fan of dreamy Darlington House weddings since scoping out venues for my own wedding in 2018. It’s a truly beautiful place with gorgeous lines and patterns everywhere you look. I was so excited at the opportunity to create a suite for such a place. Using Lauren and Alex’s tropical/SoCal color palette and the unique patterns and shapes of the venue as inspiration, I was able to create a two-color wedding suite that I could not be more excited about!!
If you haven’t checked it out yet, make sure to read my blog post from last month: ‘Lauren and Alex’s Darlington House Wedding’ that covers this killer couple in more detail and has all of the final images from their AHHHMAZING wedding day. It’s seriously epic! I cannot stress this enough!
stay pressed.
