Rachel & Leo's Ruby Hill Winery Wedding

Cheers to forever - one record at a time!

From our first meeting, it was clear that Rachel and Leo wanted their wedding invitations to embody their love for music, dance, God, and each other for their charming wedding at Casa Real - Ruby Hill Winery in Pleasanton, CA. We brainstormed elements to pay homage to their love for music and dance. This inspiration was perfect for a letterpress design with a tactile quality that feels as intimate as the couple’s relationship.

Rachel and Leo began their vinyl collection during the height of COVID-19 – hunting for records and listening with each other day after day. Feeling connected through music felt so unique to them that they knew they wanted to incorporate this part of their story into their wedding suite. We chose a font with a hint of retro vibes to pay homage to vintage album covers. This particular font also had a playful flow, reflecting the way dance and music move us. They wanted a modern, black and white invitation suite with hints of dusty blue or green - the accent colors for their wedding.

Leaning into their record collection and love of dance, we decided to incorporate motifs of vinyl records throughout the design. I shared the idea of using a square invitation reminiscent of an album sleeve. To complement this, we used a die-cut circle map - like a record for the sleeve. To make the invitations even more unique, we included a custom RSVP card with a vinyl record imprint and a playful “See you on the dance floor?” prompt for guests. A custom envelope liner, ‘Recording Live from Pleasanton, CA, ’ and a pearl white wax seal with a debossed record tied everything together.

These elements perfectly aligned with the couple’s love for music and encouraged guests to participate in their celebration uniquely. For anyone looking to design wedding invitations that reflect their personalities and love stories, remember that inspiration can come from the most personal places—just like this couple’s passion for vinyl records. Let your love guide the design, and the result will be a timeless keepsake for you and your guests to cherish for years to come.

Stay pressed.
